Awesome tuck-in-bowl food

This is a classic and very popular Chinese cuisine recipe that touches on the sweet and sour flavour notes. Make some steamed rice and serve it hot for a comforting and delicious meal that is very easy and quick to make. No one ever tried this and did not ask for the recipe and so I am sharing it here with everyone because I know you will love it.

Ingredients

  • 500g beef strips
  • Peel of one orange
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp premium thick soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/3 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • ¼ Chinese cabbage, sliced

 

Steamed rice for serving

  1. Make the sauce: Stir together the orange peel, juice, cornstarch, soy sauce, honey and beef broth. Set aside.
  2. In a wok or large skillet, heat some vegetable oil, over medium heat add the green onions and garlic, cook stirring in the hot oil for 1 minute. Then remove them from the skillet and set them aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add some oil and cook stirring the beef strips for 2-3 minutes or to the desired doneness. Then push the beef to the side of the skillet and add the sauce and let it bubble and thicken slightly then return the green onion and garlic to the skillet and add the Chinese cabbages and mix all the ingredients well together.
  4. Cook stirring for 1 minute then serve immediately with steamed rice.
