A staple in Levantine cooking, but what does Hummus have to do with it?!

Yogurt & cucumber salad is very famous in Levantine cuisine.

This is one salad that is always had as a relish next to food. Usually served next to rice-based concoctions, lamb-based dishes, Kubbeh dishes as well as being best loved next to meaty grills and BBQs and frequently used as a condiment in sandwiches…. Since we are talking about the levant, then another staple is hummus (chickpeas), why only stick to the dip? There are many ways to prepare chickpeas, one of which is the gorgeous and super delicious, chickpea and broccoli salad. Check it out.

Easy to prepare and delicious, give it a go and you too will be serving it often


Serves: 8
  • 5 medium cucumbers, peeled & chopped
  • 1/2 kg plain fresh yogurt
  • 1 small clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 cup dried mint leaves
  • Salt and Black pepper to taste


In a large bowl mix all ingredients together until combined.


Serve cold. That is it!!
