Nothing spells BRUNCH like a Bloody Mary!

For all of you brunch people out there!

Apart from Champagne (most probably won’t convince the dedicated wine lovers), is there anything that sings “brunch” like a Bloody Mary? Why not change the game a little bit?

Think of it this way:

A spread of my amazing confits and pickles – in small bowls place some of my DS Pickled Organic Mixed Vegetables, DS Pickled Organic Zaatar, DS Organic Green Olives & Artichoke Confit, DS Sundried Tomato & Kalamata Tapenade, DS Rolled Goat’s Milk Labneh Balls – next to which you will have assortments of breads, breadsticks and crackers for dipping, an amazing Frittata (see link below for recipe link), A Kusa Stir Fry (see below for recipe link), some stuffed Mushrooms (see below for recipe link), DS Nabulsi Cheese, a couple of varieties of tartines (see below for recipe link)… And really non of these takes massive amounts of time to prep! Yet they allow you to throw a spread of delicious foods made for nibbling and socialising! The very makings of Brunch!

Make sure to make extra Bloody Maries! Some for the brunch and remedy for the day after!!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups tomato juice
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp prepared horseradish
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp DS Red Shatta or DS Green Shatta
  • 1/2 tsp coarse black pepper
  • 3/4 cup DS pickle brine (any of my pickles brine)
  • 1 ounce vodka, per drink

For Garnish

  • Smoked Salt
  • Crispy bacon rashers
  • Skewered tomatoes
  • Skewered pickled onions
  • Skewered DS Nabulsi Cheese
  • DS Cucumber Pickle
  • DS Organic Green Olive in Brine
  • DS Turnip Pickles

Place all the ingredients in a blender except for the vodka and blend away.

Transfer to a pitcher and refrigerate for 2 hours or up to overnight.

To serve, rub the rim of each glass with lime then dip in smoked salt or celery salt, then place a few ice cubes in each glass. Add 1-2 shots of vodka to each glass, then fill with the bloody mary mixture. Stir well, and garnish with your favorite toppings.

Cheers!
