The Aromas Of Christmas

In a sea of chocolate!

Spice up your hot chocolate and add that extra layer for a an even more seductive hot chocolate effect! Take the time off, and look out the window, sip on this comfort and enjoy the festive season.



Serves: 6
  • 60g 60% dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1/3 cup raw honey
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (recipe on this link)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch ground nutmeg
  • A pinch ground cloves
  • A pinch of ground star anise
  • a pinch of ground cardamom (optional)
  • Whipped Cream (optional)
  • Mini Marshmallows (optional)
  • Cocoa Powder for dusting

In a medium saucepan, combine chocolate, honey and ½ cup of the milk.

Stir over medium heat until the mixture just comes to boiling. Stir in the remaining 3 ½ cups of milk and spices. Heat through, but do not boil.

Remove from heat.

If desired beat mixture with rotary beater till frothy.

Top with whipped cream or marshmallows and sprinkle cacao on top. Place a cinnamon stick in each mug when you serve for a concentrated cinnamon aroma.
